Beyond classroom learning, The Dewey Schools Ocean Park prioritizes offering students exciting journeys of discovery through hands-on experiences. One of the most engaging destinations for our primary school TDSers this time is the STEAMLAND Education Farm. Here, students not only immerse themselves in the fresh natural environment but also relax with fun-filled and meaningful activities.
At the STEAMLAND Education Farm, TDSers received a warm welcome and thorough guidance from instructors and homeroom teachers. They engaged in meaningful and exciting activities, from observing budding green mustard plants and shy kohlrabi sprouts emerging from the soil to planting and nurturing their own seedlings. Students also had the opportunity to craft wooden boats in the carpentry workshop, freely unleashing their creativity by painting their unique designs.
These hands-on experiences not only helped them develop meticulousness and attention to detail but also stimulated creativity, encouraged critical thinking, and naturally enhanced problem-solving skills.
TDSer Hien Anh (2Seoul) shared: “Among today’s activities, I enjoyed the carpentry workshop the most because I got to make my own wooden boat. Additionally, the board game was very interesting as it helped me practice thinking skills and teamwork.”
One of the highlights of the trip was the team-building activities. In an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm, the youngest members of Dewey Ocean Park demonstrated teamwork and seamless coordination through group activities and engaging board games. The joyful laughter and applause created an environment filled with happiness and energy, leaving unforgettable memories for the students in their first school year at Ocean Park.
