Discipline training is an annual activity during the orientation period at the start of the school year at The Dewey Schools. During this time, we learn about the concept of school rules, the system of regulations, and the standards of conduct within the school. In addition to the existing rules, we are encouraged to contribute ideas, discuss, and refine regulations for various areas such as classrooms, libraries, the canteen, the multipurpose hall, buses, and more. Through our boundless creativity, we have crafted truly eye-catching, unique, and impressive rule boards.
Through this training session, we gained an understanding of the importance of establishing rules for students and adhering to disciplinary policies. In the group discussion segment, we provided examples of common student violations, categorized the severity of these actions, and discussed the consequences of not following the rules. Each group actively participated, engaging in lively and enthusiastic debates. We all agreed that following the established rules in school helps students build a sense of responsibility and contributes to creating a positive learning environment. We also became more aware of our roles and the impact we have within the school community.
“This was a very interesting and beneficial activity. Being directly involved in the process of creating the rules helps us better understand and more willingly follow them. I’m also very happy that the school always provides opportunities, respects, and listens to our voices,” shared Bui Hai Phong from 8Kemi.
