Ms. Laurie Whiston is Dewey’s Director of the English Program and has 20 years of experience in education as an English teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in educational leadership as well as licenses in English, English as a Second Language, and School Administration. Ms. Whiston’s primary purpose for dedicating her life to education is to provide children with a safe and nurturing environment for their growth and development. She ensures that the educational programs provided at Dewey have positive opportunities to support academic growth, emotional well-being, and physical activity for every student. Every child is valued and encouraged to pursue their passions and discover their gifts as a learner in caring learning community. Ms. Whiston is originally from Maryland in the U.S.A. and has International school experiences as both an educator and a student from Laos, Thailand, Kenya, Pakistan, Bahrain, China, and Vietnam.
