Ms. Khanh Ly

"Dewey is providing almost everything our family wants"

Dewey is providing almost everything our family wants for the development of my kid in studying at the school. The curriculum encourages students' self-learning skills. Students consider studying as their responsibility, not their parents' responsibility. I can see my kid become more confident every passing year.

"I see the day-by-day improvement of my son"

I see the day-by-day improvement of my son in his communication, knowledge, and learning skills. He learns through experience with the "Learning By Doing" method and he can make different products himself. Some of the products are used for charity projects. In my opinion, these values are much greater than what students learn from textbooks.

Parent of Student Nguyen Tu Tuyen

"I wish I could go back to my childhood to study in a school like Dewey"

After attending a lesson with my child, I wish I could go back to my childhood to study in a school like Dewey. Since my child studied here, she has become more confident, and her English skills have been greatly improved. Project-based learning is a fun and active approach for students to present their ideas under teachers' instructions without being pressured. Besides, I see my child become more mature with changes in behavior and communication with parents about the surrounding world, family, teachers, friends, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh

"Learning comes naturally when children are happy, eager for the lessons"

Students can be themselves and freely express their identities when they study here. Learning comes naturally when children are happy, eager for the lessons, and thoroughly engaged in the learning process. In particular, I was surprised when my child shared about Humanities subject. It seemed to me that I could broaden my social knowledge thanks to a grade 9 student. After each unit, students gain a deep understanding of arts, historical contexts, humanistic aspects, and their influence on society and people in each period, then draw their own lessons.

Educational belief:
High-level education brings students comprehensive PHYSICAL AND MENTAL development. The school’s teaching method is the method of a modern school, accordingly, knowledge is considered as a product each student must create by themselves through a TASK system. Each of the TASKS entails a manipulating sequence with strict order that enables anyone to accomplish, then create their product with a minumum time amount. The golden rule of the school’s pedagogy is ‘not to give students ready-made products, but instead, they have to create the thing they need themselves’. Rather than compare one student with another, high-level education considers each student as an independent individual who is respected and can develop safely. The fundamental goal of high-level education is to enable students to solve real-life problems as much as possible, which benefits their ability to self-study and self-improve.

Founders' message

Dear Parents,

We all know that schools have a great impact on the transformation of each individual and the whole society. In order to be successful in this ever-changing world, schools are not merely a place for students to acquire knowledge or study literacy, math and science. Instead, each school must have a broad vision in constructing the living environment for a new era because “Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself!”

The Dewey Schools is an inter-level school named after the philosopher John Dewey, the modern father of experiential education. At Dewey, we encourage experiential education through student-centered learning. Learning activities are organized with the methods: ‘learning by doing’, project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and design thinking which promote comprehensive development in terms of knowledge, skills, social-emotional well-being and further promote an inquiring mind.

The Dewey Schools’ educational philosophy is to inspire students’ growth through the learner-centered approach, which encourages self-education, and assists them in becoming individuals who are independent, responsible, and fulfilled with an inquisitive mind and a love for lifelong learning.

Each student is a creative and active individual in his own learning. Each student participates in constructing their learning journey unfolded over time with the support, consultancy and guidance of teachers who thoroughly understand each of them.

Our students can meet the challenges of the future and influence changes in the world around them if we encourage their natural inclination to inquire and succeed. We can create a better world while inspiring others through the work we carry out together.

We hope to create a better world and generate more significant impacts to realize our pioneering mission to be a school of Inquiry, Innovation and Impact, which parents look for, students love, and staff are proud of.

We are delighted to welcome our dearest parents and students to the future!

Best regards,
The Dewey Schools’ Council of Founders
