"Our kids always smile brightly and not stressed about studying"

The happiness of parents like me is to see our kids always smile brightly and not stressed about studying when picking them up from school. At home, he is comfortable talking about school, activities he had with his classmates, what he learned and how useful it is. It is one of the outcomes that we expect when sending our kid to The Dewey Schools Cau Giay.

"Khoa An has never wanted to miss a class, except when he was sick"

During five years of studying at the School, Khoa An has never wanted to miss a class, except when he was sick. He loves the school and his classmates. He enjoys studying, talking with teachers, participating in extracurricular activities, and having meals at the school canteen. Besides, I am very impressed with Ms.Caitlyn's dedication. She is an English teacher who carefully monitors students' performance, always listens to parents' opinions, and has timely support for students in the learning process. Therefore, I am happy when my child studies at TDS because it's important to me that students can develop a passion for learning and feel happy, which is exactly what I can see in The Dewey School Cau Giay.

"My children affectionately share their thoughts, show their gratefulness, and care about me"

I am so surprised and touched when my children affectionately share their thoughts, show their gratefulness, and care about me. When talking with the Homeroom teacher, I know they are taught to observe and feel the love among the family members in Vietnamese-Literature subject. In addition to such a quality academic program, Dewey Cau Giay also impressed me with extracurricular activities such as Winter Concert, Tet markets, D-show, etc. Thanks to these events, students not only can enjoy school life, meet friends, and broaden their knowledge about culture and arts but also have opportunities to show their talents and identities.

"I want to study at The Dewey Schools forever"

Teachers at The Dewey Schools Cau Giay often start a lesson with an open question or a warm-up game, so the classes are always fun. After those parts, we can participate in many activities such as role-play, composing, learning projects, presentations, etc. I enjoy school events, clubs, and projects because they help me broaden my knowledge and develop creative thinking. "What impressed me the most at The Dewey Schools was the core values"

What impressed me the most at The Dewey Schools was the core values which cannot be found in the schools I attended before. Four values, Integrity - Passion - Generosity - Lifelong learning, are often reminded and applied in our daily learning environment. The teachers at the school are always enthusiastic and dedicated, and perhaps the inspiration they bring to classes has helped me to acquire knowledge effectively. In addition, my friends and I have opportunities to grow through bonding activities and lead the junior students in a series of different events at school.

From the beginning, David was attracted and challenged by the school system’s vision and the Board of Directors’ commitment to impact Vietnam by developing and offering a world-class educational experience for Dewey students. One of the major tasks of his work has been the development of a School Board – to lead and govern the school system according to a governance model built on international best practices and aligned with the business model of The Dewey Schools.

Another major endeavor has been the development and implementation of a strategic planning framework for the school system, encompassing and aligning both school development goals and improvement goals – a project which will provide direction and context for system growth and improvement from the next five years.

Educational belief
The mission of a modern educator is not to provide students with pre-existing knowledge but to design and organize a LEARNING system so that each student can LEARN their own knowledge. Only in that way will they have the ability to SELF-STUDY and SELF-EDUCATION to be able to create their own IDENTITY. Hence, a modern school must be a place to facilitate the cognitive development of each student through SELF-STUDY, thereby creating a self-study nation, a free life, and a self-sufficient country.

Educational belief:
High-level education brings students comprehensive PHYSICAL AND MENTAL development. The subject knowledge content delivered to students must be in line with the society in which they were born and raised. The school’s teaching method is the method of a modern school, accordingly, knowledge is considered as a product each student must create by themselves through a TASK system. Each of the TASKS entails a manipulating sequence with strict order that enables anyone to accomplish, then create their product with a minumum time amount. The golden rule of the school’s pedagogy is ‘not to give students ready-made products, but instead, they have to create the thing they need themselves’. Rather than compare one student with another, high-level education considers each student as an independent individual who is respected and can develop safely. The fundamental goal of high-level education is to enable students to solve real-life problems as much as possible, which benefits their ability to self-study and self-improve.

Founders' message

Dear Parents,

We all know that schools have a great impact on the transformation of each individual and the whole society. In order to be successful in this ever-changing world, schools are not merely a place for students to acquire knowledge or study literacy, math and science. Instead, each school must have a broad vision in constructing the living environment for a new era because “Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself!”

The Dewey Schools is an inter-level school named after the philosopher John Dewey, the modern father of experiential education. At Dewey, we encourage experiential education through student-centered learning. Learning activities are organized with the methods: ‘learning by doing’, project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and design thinking which promote comprehensive development in terms of knowledge, skills, social-emotional well-being and further promote an inquiring mind.

The Dewey Schools’ educational philosophy is to inspire students’ growth through the learner-centered approach, which encourages self-education, and assists them in becoming individuals who are independent, responsible, and fulfilled with an inquisitive mind and a love for lifelong learning.

Each student is a creative and active individual in his own learning. Each student participates in constructing their learning journey unfolded over time with the support, consultancy and guidance of teachers who thoroughly understand each of them.

Our students can meet the challenges of the future and influence changes in the world around them if we encourage their natural inclination to inquire and succeed. We can create a better world while inspiring others through the work we carry out together.

We hope to create a better world and generate more significant impacts to realize our pioneering mission to be a school of Inquiry, Innovation and Impact, which parents look for, students love, and staff are proud of.

We are delighted to welcome our dearest parents and students to the future!

Best regards,
The Dewey Schools’ Council of Founders
